Home For The Holidays

We're in Georgia for Christmas. I wish we were still in Colorado.... it'd be great to see a white Christmas for once in my life. Maybe next year, though. I don't plan to go home because the drive by myself would kill me, and flying alone with Braden would be stressful. I've gone home for the last two Christmases. Someone can see us for once. The drive through New Mexico wasn't too bad, but Texas took about 10 hours. We hit Forth Worth around dawn. We finally made it to Georgia around 1am Sunday morning, and it's been a resting period for us.

hospital time

The last few days have been crazy. Sunday, Braden had a small fever. We gave him some motrin and he seemed ok. Around 5, he started acting weird. He wasn't blinking or moving. He wasn't responding to anything. I called 911 and while I was on the phone, Braden turned blue in the lips. I was so scared. I rode with him in the ambulance. They just told us to keep rotating motrin and tylenol. That's what we did when we got home when he started to have another seizure. This time it was full out shaking. At first he kept trying to focus on me like he was trying to fight it. He gave me a final look that seemed like "mom I can't fight it anymore" and went into the seizure. It was horrible. We called 911 again because we were told if he had another in 24 hrs to do so. They ran some labs and we stayed over night. He hasn't a fever since Monday thankfully.

Our First Major Winter Storm

This was our first major winter storm for us since we PCS'd to Colorado. We had snow in October, and the last day of summer(sept 21), nothing this measurable. We've gotten at least 8 inches, a foot in spots. Yet, the NWS never issued us a winter storm warning, or a wind chill warning. The one is Pueblo needs some new employees apparently. They did issue a wind chill warning last night, where we could have gotten 30 below zero. We only had it -27. Close enough. We will be reaching highs in the 30s over the weekend, it's a welcome change. Considering the last week and a half we have been in the teens and single digits. Lows below 0. Yes, 30 degrees will do just fine.

Go Me!

I start school January 5th, 2010. I applied to get my bachelor's in Environmental Science with Ashford University. It makes me feel good because I'm actually going somewhere with my life. Once we have careers(Brendon has his, and I don't have one yet...) I think everything will fall into place. We can have a little bit more stability than we do now money wise. I start off with a introductory class and everything, which is good cause I haven't really done any schooling since 2006. I feel out of the student loop.

I think we're going to "officially" start potty training Braden now. He will be 23 months old on the 12th. Wow, where does the time go? He seemed ready at 20 months, but he stopped being interested, so we waited until he wanted to again, and now that has come. Hopefully we can have a good start with this.

Snow!

The snow is pretty, but we could do without the below 0 temperatures.

Stress

I'm stressed to the max. There is so much going on with Brendon, but he's not willing to admit anything. Like a man. I can only go so far and do so much, the rest he has to meet me halfway. There is rumors that the deployment is getting moved up by 3 or 4 months because of Obama's decision to send more. I hope this isn't true.
